Hayes Family Wines
Barossa Valley, Australia
Hayes Family Wines was established in 2014 and comprises of a highly-skilled and experienced team with owner Brett Hayes and Chief Winemaker Andrew Seppelt who draws on generations of knowledge and some 25+ years of personal winemaking experience to craft wines that are sensitive to site, variety and vintage.
Their own viticulture team for their Estate Vineyard, is led by Mandy Madar, a truly exceptional vineyard resource
Hayes Family Wines are producing some of Australia’s best wines. They have received five red stars in the Halliday Wine Companion and they are highly recognised both domestically and globally for their premium wines.
Brett Hayes and team are proud custodians of a superbly-sited historic Barossa vineyard, driven by the desire to feel the soil on their hands and to craft authentic, classically-styled wines that reflect their unique sites. They achieve this by working with the region’s hero varieties – Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro and Semillon – certified organic and certified sustainable vineyards. Brett and his team are handling their fruit respectfully in the winery with minimal intervention, no fining and no filtering of their red wines (and hence they are vegan friendly).
Their extended team of multi-generational growers provides a further resource and support, overseeing the farming of historic vineyard sites across Barossa Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra and the Adelaide Hills.
